Muskets were the newest and most modern weapon in the 1640s. They take a relatively long time to load and are not that accurate, but a big block of musketeers all firing at the same time would have been devastating to the enemy. Musketeers were faster on the march than pikemen and were easier to train.

What we do
Musketeering today still takes a little time to learn but is really exciting to do. We always welcome new musketeers and full training plus a replica musket is provided. If you like it, we’ll help you to obtain the necessary paperwork needed to use and fire a live musket.
